Crispy Miso Glazed Salmon Recipe

    Salmon is one of my favorite fish cook for so many reasons but mainly because of the nutritional benefits and the minimal preparation required. When cooking salmon you can never go wrong with a quick marinade. Whether if its pre-packaged or homemade, using a marinade will for sure intensify the flavor in less than 30 minutes to create an extremely juicy and flaky salmon.

    Prior to making this dish, I remembered a few weeks back having some delicious salmon at one of my girl friends house and it was so darn flavorful with NO added salt-yes.. no salt! Not to mention she used everyday condiments to make this easy sauce. So in short she is definitely the inspiration for recreating this yummy meal over the weekend.

    If you are wanting to take a lighter approach to this dish you can swap out of the ingredients for healthy alternatives. And I promise it won’t alter the taste;

    Low Sodium Soy Sauce or Braggs Liquid Aminos

    Vegetable Oil or Toasted Sesame Oil

    Fresh Ginger or Ground Ginger

    Pictured: crispy miso glazed salmon, garlic purple cauliflower rice and grilled sesame ginger bok choy.

    Also to keep in mind when using Miso you’ll need to purchase white miso which is known to be sweeter unlike red miso which can be very potent for this particular fish. Its no secret that this glaze is a great balance between sweet and savory. You can also use miso in other meals such as salad dressings, dipping sauces and much more. One thing to also remember is that this can be prepared 1 to 2 days prior to serving so this is super low maintenance.
